Business card samples - 7 of our favorites

Visiitkaartide näidised - 7 meie lemmikut

Luxury business cards have been a big deal in our house for the last 30 years, but in recent years this trend has taken an even bigger leap. If you're making a new business card for yourself, then this blog is just for you!

According to statistics, the number of print orders is decreasing, but when printing is done, it's done properly, meaning the demand for luxury printing is on the rise. The main need comes from the fact that all successful companies have a large internet presence and it's hard to stand out in all that chaos. Since business happens between people and 80% of big deals happen face to face, business cards have their definite place in sales.

A well-thought-out business card creates a trustworthy emotion when touched, gives the client an extra reason to get in touch or make a purchase, and is a clear sign that you take your business seriously and are ready to stand out from others.

Our team selected 7 of what we think are the best business cards, which we'll now analyze.

Sample 1: ARTER quarter business card

  • 2x design paper
  • Screen printing

This business card is our team's favorite and often makes waves when we present our portfolio to new clients. As you can see from the picture, they've gone for a minimalist but elegant design, which has been very successful.

Two design papers have been chosen as material, glued together. The card is strong enough, but at the same time leaves some softness despite its substantial material amount. Touching it creates a sense of security and this business card is a complete helper when you need to close deals worth millions.

Sample 2: BITESTOP business card

  • Design paper
  • Screen printing
  • Die-cut

As you can see from the picture, the designers have hit the bullseye. Like the previous card, this one also uses screen printing to achieve the best print quality. Additionally, a die-cut has been made so the business card feels particularly enticing and conveys the right emotion.

Already from these two samples, a pattern emerges that the logo should be placed large on one side. Don't put anything else there. Considering the small dimensions of a business card, the logo must be used large and bold. This ensures memorability and makes you easily noticeable. This card also maintains a minimalist line in its design.

Sample 3: DUOTELLUUR business card

  • Die-cut
  • Screen printing
  • Design paper

Dear reader, if you're a musician, you're truly in luck. Here's a working example of how to make the business card recipient scratch their head... Almost always they ask how this card was made. This card always creates a wow effect in our clients and it's examined many times more compared to other cards.

As you can see from the picture, we can do everything from rounding corners to fine cuts.

Sample 4: MANGOMANGO business card

  • 3x design paper
  • Screen printing
  • Spot varnish

The latest generation has radically changed the function and appearance of business cards. QR codes have been added that lead to landing pages to read additional information or make purchases/send inquiries. Additionally, special discounts are very common, which are especially popular in retail for tastings and e-shops. For services, free trial periods are often used, free coffee (some product that doesn't create much additional cost but brings people through the door), or loyalty cards are common among beauty salons.

We do our best to be an innovative print shop. If necessary, we can help you set up discount codes and also help with thinking about offers.

Sample 5: LUX TELECOM business card

  • Design paper
  • Screen printing
  • Spot varnish
  • Regular foil

This business card has an irregular appearance, but the designer has done wonderful work and made everything fit. As marketers say that an advertising message should be like a shovel to the head, this card does exactly that. It catches the eye, and you immediately understand what it's about. Next time you see a SIM card, you'll definitely remember their business card. Even after reading this blog :)

Sample 6: DIGITAL NATION business card

  • Design paper
  • Regular holographic foil
  • Screen printing (back)

As you can see, even digital agencies print business cards for themselves. Big deals usually happen face to face, and a good business card has its definite role to play here. Like with many other cards on this list, the client's wish was simple: "If this even slightly helps our sales deals, then it's already very good."

Sample 7: LUXCHARTER business card

  • Design paper
  • Regular gold foil
  • Screen printing

Does it seem luxurious? Imagine for a moment that these samples were printed in regular digital print on regular paper.

Final nugget

We call these "closer" business cards. A closer business card is one you don't give to everyone. The cost of giving out one card is usually 50-60€ and actually it's not a business card but a gift card. If you can't close the deal at the meeting, then you give your gift card and the client is most likely locked in. Even the richest people really like to get free things.

We recommend making closer cards when dealing with big deals or when the customer's lifetime value is sufficiently high. Many closer card clients order cards in two price ranges. Some cheaper, others more expensive.
