Details are what count!

We offer a very wide range of design options, where you'll definitely find the right one for your product. Get to know some of the options more closely here:

3D VARNISH AND I-FOIL

Here we bring your image or text to life with multiple layers and make it embossed. This way it can be felt when touched with a finger. The digital device allows production of both regular and very embossed UV spot varnish, including on digital prints when they are covered with surface-active laminate.

The 3D varnish layer can also be covered with i-foil, meaning 12 different foil tones. This way you can draw attention to different details, such as logos or other design elements. The varnish is applied to pre-printed coated paper or laminate using digital technology.

The paper to be varnished should be coated, preferably matte laminated. Our Sense laminate gives the ideal result. The advantage is stronger gloss, but it must be taken into account that when bending or creasing, the thick varnish layer may break, so spot varnish is not suitable for magazine/book spines or edges.

Regular embossed or 3D varnish produced on the same bases can be covered with gold or silver foil. The minimum varnish layer thickness for I-foil is 30 microns. Creating the file is simple in Adobe programs, we can send English instructions upon request.

Maximum sheet: 520 × 1050 mm; minimum 210 × 300 mm.
Grammage: min 135 g/m² (I-foil 150) -- max 600 g/m².
3D varnish can be made up to 200 microns high, but the optimal is 70 microns. You can use up to 10 different height layers, but optimal is 1--3. For perception, the height difference between different layers must be at least 30 microns.

UV SPOT VARNISH

To highlight a single detail on a print or varnish only part of an image, spot varnish must be used. The varnish is applied to pre-printed paper using screen printing technique. Generally, the varnish is colorless, but tinted varnishes can also be used. To achieve special sparkle, glitter or pearl powder can be mixed into the varnish. Spot varnish usage possibilities are versatile: from business cards, festive company prints to exclusive books. Spot varnish always remains more effective on matte paper, ideal on matte laminate. The paper to be varnished should be coated, as varnish tends to absorb into uncoated paper. There is special varnish available for uncoated papers, but it's also more expensive, so it would be cheaper to choose coated paper. The varnish layer applied in spot varnish is about 4 times thicker than flexo varnish. The advantage is stronger gloss but it must be taken into account that when bending or creasing, the thick varnish layer may break, so spot varnish is not suitable for magazine/book spines. Available are matte, glossy (separately for uncoated papers), embossed, embossed bubble varnish, luminescent and fluorescent spot varnish.

Maximum sheet: 520 x 720 mm

We'll be happy to help you with different effects that can be done in spot varnish.

UV OVERALL VARNISH

UV overall varnish is a thin layer of varnish. Our partner print shop Revaprint applies both glossy and matte overall varnish. Additionally, glossy overall varnish suitable for foiling.

The machine's technical specifications state that problems may occur below 130g/m2. We have also varnished 60-gram paper, but then there's a risk that the machine will start wrinkling the sheets. The paper must definitely be gloss coated. Varnish absorbs into silk and matte paper (sometimes offset varnish has helped).

Colors
Colors must be suitable for UV varnishing, meaning they must not contain wax or if so, only in small amounts. The print must be sufficiently dry for varnishing. The varnish manufacturer says that sheets should dry for 24-72 hours before varnishing depending on room temperature and humidity. In a cooler room, drying time increases significantly.

Drying time is especially important for metallic colors and large solid areas. It has happened that a thick layer of gold or silver, which seems dry, comes off with the dried part after varnishing. Problematic colors are metallic, fluorescent and reflex blue. For metallic and fluorescent colors, the thickness of the color layer is very important.

Since fluorescent colors contain a lot of pigment, varnish can absorb into the color and make the surface rough and sticky. Longer drying improves the situation to some extent.

UV varnish can change the color tone (colors containing reflex blue pigment)

Anti-set-off powder
Definitely watch the amount and grain size of anti-set-off powder. Our machine partially removes powder but not all of it. A larger amount of powder remaining on the sheet creates matte spots in the varnish. Large-grain powder leaves the varnish surface rough. If there's a lot of powder and our machine can't remove the entire amount, there are cases where the job is run through the printing press again.

DIGITAL PRINTING

At the print shop, we print from regular digital paper to many thick, up to 300g embossed design papers and paper stickers. Additionally, digital printing is done on roll material PVC stickers, which can be obtained both as full surface and as images cut out from the background.

The basis for quality work is naturally a quality print file in PDF format, where text parts have also been converted to images.

Most clients order business cards, product label stickers, invitations, Christmas and other cards, and advertising leaflets as digital prints.

NEWS! Since July 2023, Revaprint has installed a new digital printing line, which for the first time can offer digital printing service for finished uncoated paper products, such as paper bags, boxes, cases, mail and other envelopes!

SCREEN PRINTING

Screen printing is a printing method where ink is applied to the material to be printed through a fine mesh (silk) stretched on a frame. Surfaces that must not let ink through are covered with emulsion.

Why choose screen printing? Screen printing allows achieving pure 100% guaranteed Pantone color tones, covering paper better than offset printing. Very different materials can be used, in thickness, shape and structure. Our main materials are paper and stickers. PVC stickers printed in screen printing withstand temperature fluctuations and various weather conditions. In screen printing, the ink layer is thicker and thanks to this, it's possible to achieve good results with uncoated dark papers. It's possible to print metallic, gold, silver etc. We use Pantone color scale colors or for images CMYK color separation, screen frequency 60LPI. From ready films we accept ready sheet films (pre-coordinated with us) positive emulsion on top.

The advantage of screen printing is:

Its coverage and achieving pure solid areas even on very difficult to print materials and surfaces (ask our specialists if you want to use special materials). For repeat printing, we preserve the color for you for years and guarantee you 100% the same tone with every order.

Weather, UV and physical durability of the print, which can reach up to 5 years. Revaprint prints, for example, door stickers for security companies, object stickers, container stickers, traffic sign control stickers, etc., which must last and withstand even after physical contact, cleaning, etc.

Adding special effects is possible in 80% of cases only with screen printing technology. Available are gold, silver, pearl, glitter, lottery ink, etc. See more details under special effects.

For printing from a file, the basis for quality work is naturally a quality print file in PDF format, where text parts have also been converted to images.

SPECIAL EFFECTS

Reva Print is known in Estonia and neighboring countries as a special effects print shop. A very large part of book and magazine covers, menus, packages, invitation cards and business cards printed in various print shops get some fancy effect addition right from our partner print shop. Their clients are all Estonian and surrounding area print shops. The print shop naturally prints from start to finish on special and design papers, plastics, stickers (which usually can't be printed with either offset or digital printing). Revaprint has also printed on special materials such as wood veneer, roofing sheet, aluminum, etc.

Get to know the most common effects:

Spot varnish -- Both glossy, matte, embossed, and embossed bubble varnish

Glitter added to spot varnish -- Universal glitter mixtures with all tones are immediately available in our stock: silver, gold, greenish, holographic silver and gold. For example, a large part of the sparkling postcards for sale in stores have received their sparkle from us.

Pearl added to spot varnish -- Works exactly as pearl on white and light surfaces. On cold tones it becomes silver, on warm ones gold

Tinted spot varnish -- We can also tint it according to your wishes

Luminescent spot varnish -- After a couple of hours of charging in light, it glows in the dark, depending on charging time, up to 12 hours

Fluorescent spot varnish -- Varnish that glows purple or yellow under money or UV lamp for creating security elements for gift cards, money cards, trade fair badges and invitations, etc. Additionally, it can be used in nightclubs where corresponding blue UV lamps are used on the ceiling, to cover menus with it, which makes it easier for customers to read the menu in the dark.

Since 2014, we have been ready to offer you coverage with a varnish pattern for the entire extent of any print. 3 different patterns are available: Leather pattern (with glossy, matte, or embossed varnish), Haapsalu shawl lace (with glossy, matte, or embossed varnish), Linen fabric (with glossy and matte varnish). This is an ideal solution for immediate addition to book and magazine covers and advertising prints, as it's readily available at the print shop.

Opaque white printing -- Our white color allows printing even on dark papers and surfaces. Often unsuccessful white prints in other printing technologies can be improved by overprinting at our facility at a certain stage of the work. Actually, it's precisely the coverage of screen printing colors that allows printing on dark materials and colors.

Gold and silver printing -- The print shop has both regular silver and gold. Additionally, there's sparkling silver and gold. For example, the Estonian President's invitations have been printed with the latter.

Covering previously printed images with lottery scratch-off ink -- Silver is available. The text below -- win/loss must be printed in halftone, surrounded by a pattern, and the surface previously (before adding scratch-off ink) covered with overall varnish, ideally with laminate.

Since we have an industrial automatic line, we can cover other print shops' prints with scratch-resistant matte and Sense silky surface matte laminate in addition to regular matte and glossy laminate. Additionally, we have embossed linen fabric pattern glossy laminate.

NB! Since we use only the highest quality materials for both overall varnish and laminate, previously produced effects can be applied to them and prints processed with them can be post-processed (cut, folded, glued, printed, etc.)

We can also introduce all options to you more closely on site. This way you can see different materials with your own eyes and touch them with your hands. Write us an email: info@brandcafe.ee or see our detailed contacts here.
